1. How about the measurement principal?
- AccuFat¢ç based on the optical structure has been developed to penetrate up to 50mm from the skin to measure the thickness of the subcutaneous fat after detecting the amount of reflected light from body¡¯s fat layer and the measured value is shown to the LCD display of AccuFat by millimeter (mm).
The below figure 1 is to understand the sensor part.

2. Can it be only possible to get the result through LCD monitor? Any other information?
- Basically, the thickness of subcutaneous fat is displayed by ¡°mm¡± and selectively, body fat percentage is supported.

3. How many values can be saved to the AccuFat¢ç? How to transfer the data?
- Can be saved 18 values per 9 persons. Therefore, totally 162 values can be saved. The data can be transferred to PC through USB device and Data management program will be provided for user¡¯s convenience.

4. Does the AccuFat¢ç use to measure for whole body parts?
- We can assure the reliability and reproducibility with ¡°mm¡± standard for the
following body parts including triceps, abdomen, suprailliac, thigh and hip

- For other parts, it can be measured with ¡°%¡± as a relative value.

Ex) On the face part, the value is 16% before caring and it is changed to 13% after caring.

5. What¡¯s the thickness can be measured for subcutaneous fat?
- Approximately possible to measure from 5 ~ 50mm and tolerance error range is
approximately +/- 2mm.

6. A light is known to be absorbed by black color. If a person has a spot or chloasma on the skin,
    how measure for him/her?
- The result value can be affected by large size spot or chloasma little bit.

¡Ø We estimate that a person having a terrible skin disease or large spot will be difficult to use the AccuFat. We will add ¡°warning words¡± on the user manual. For example, the user manual of electrocardiogram describes ¡°Not available to measure¡±, if a person has a cardiac pacemakers in his/her body.

7. Regarding Question No.8, how measure for a dark skin person or a black?
- In these cases, there is a need to set up the new algorithm through clinic but,
in general, it can not be affected by the skin tone.

8. A person being thickly haired should shave before measurement?
- The hair may affect the measurement and needs to be shaved. However, it is
highly recommended to measure on a skin without hair.

9. In case of a person using a body cream generally, he/she should clean up before
    measurement?
- The wavelength range is not seriously affected by body cream.

10. Who are the major customers?
- Accufat¢ç is needs to the field of professional medical field and health & fitness
professionals to be able to measure the thickness of subcutaneous fat as well as the difference before/after medical surgery(ex. lipo. suction), treatment, exercises.
