The core development field in the Sensor Business is R&D and its application,
using new conceptual nano photodiodes based on the silicon semiconductor.
Along with this aim, our research areas for nanotechnology are open-ended and
include researching nano material which has quantum effect features, developing device
modeling and structuring that causes quantum effect, simulation for a single electron as a device,
device-developing processing, super-precision nano measurement and system interface. |
|
With the goals of structural research and development for new conceptual and new functional
quantum nano semiconductor photon/electron devices, we are concentrating on developing semiconductor single
crystal thin film growth technology, low-dimensional nano structure forming technology using E-beam,
nano structural quantum/photon device designing and interpretation skill, nano structural
quantum/photon device with accurate measuring skill.
Examples such technologies which are
the basis for futuristic devices are
nano bio sensors, quantum memory, quantum
integrated circuits, highly efficient
LD, and LED. In this vein, we are concentrating
on fulfill our R&D projects having
new fusion technology based on integration
of IT & BT with NT. We, as the frontrunner
for interchanging & leading cutting-edge
technologies, would like to discover
national technological resources in
nano semiconductor area, propose directions
for developing national key industries,
and furthermore contribute to the public¡¯s
welfare as creating technology resources
which have huge industrial ripple effect. |

Nanotechnology
is what allows for developing
a new function or systems by controlling
the materials at the micro-level
of nano-meters (10 to the negative
9th power).
The length of a nano-meter level
is one hundred thousandth of the
thickness of one hair (100nm)
and similar in size to an atom
or molecule.
If atoms could be manipulated
freely, we would create original
functions and objects we |
|
have never before imagined. We are
expecting such possibilities from nanotechnology
and it also provides the opportunities
from the business aspect.
The future nano-related market could
be brought by realizing functions and
products development which has been
considered to be practically impossible.
However, we expect this market will
be so huge that we cannot even forecast
it now. |
